Before you start:
1. Read the instructions carefully.
2. Work over a sink or a surface covered in layers of newspaper (just in case).
3. Only re-fill a cartridge that has just run out ~ this kit will not work with old dried out
cartridges. Even 30 minutes can ruin a cartridge if it dries out!
4. Have your printer manual handy for instructions on inserting a “new” cartridge.
1. With the drill
bit supplied, make a 3mm filling hole above the ink reservoir. (See diagram right) IMPORTANT – DO
NOT DRILL INTO THE SECTION CONTAINING THE SPONGE.
2. Assemble the syringe and steel filling tube and fill with appropriate colour ink.
3. SLOWLY inject ink into the filling hole until the reservoir is almost full. DO NOT inject any
further ink for the time being.
4. Keep a rubber plug and some adhesive tape close by and refill the syringe up to the 10ml level
shown on the syringe.
5. Place the cartridge over a protected surface
6. Inject the 10ml of ink into the reservoir until it is completely full. Some leaking from the
outlet hole may occur at this stage.
7. Quickly seal the filling hole with the rubber plug and seal with the adhesive tape.
THIS SEAL MUST BE AIRTIGHT, IF NOT THE CARTRIDGE WILL CONTINUE TO LEAK.
8. Clean the syringe with water and dry for future use or with different colour ink.
9. Leave cartridge to stand overnight on a non-absorbent surface to prevent further leakage.
10. Install cartridge in printer and run a priming cycle as per printer instructions.
IMPORTANT – For best results, cartridge should be refilled whilst some ink remains.
Empty cartridges should be refilled immediately.
This work is best done over the sink.
